I chose to go into science because women are greatly underrepresented in that field. After I was accepted into pharmacy school, my mom mentioned it to her class that in 4 years I will have a doctorate of pharmacy. One of her students raised their hand and said, “But, she’s a girl. Girls can’t be doctors, right?” That reminded me of why I chose science and why I chose pharmacy. Stereotypes are taught, and I study hard every day to break those, one at a time.
