I grew up with my father being a firefighter and paramedic. I ended up following in his footsteps, which I am proud of and honored to do, but to add to that is the fact that I chose careers that have been traditionally male dominated.
I am proud of myself for showing that a woman can be a paramedic, a firefighter, and a deputy (I do all three). I want to encourage girls to grow up to be ANYTHING they want, whether that be a medic, a cop, a nurse, a teacher, a doctor, a lawyer…the options should be limitless.
