The Boy Who Hated Feminists

I guess my story is small in the grand scheme of things, but every little triumph helps. My best friend’s brother hated feminists. He didn’t like the way that he felt as though they were excessive in the way that they were so loud about their opinions and were constantly causing a disruption. This made me angry. I just don’t understand how someone cannot see the value in treating women as equals. Men don’t lose anything from this, and it’s a win win win situation in my eyes. There is no way for change to happen if we are passive. We really do have to be the change we want to see in the world, because no one is going to change it for us. I sat my best friend’s brother down, and I listened to his side. His argument was weak, but it is important to try and understand someone else’s perspective, especially if you want them to do the same to you. I managed to convince him that feminists are a key part of change, and a change that will benefit everyone in the long term.
